Why should you help fund this scholarship?
Inez Beverly Prosser (1895-1934) is considered to be the first African American woman to receive a PhD in psychology. Her dissertation research was related to the personality characteristics of African American children in integrated and segregated schools (Benjamin, Henry, & McMahon, 2005). A contribution to the Inez Beverly Prosser scholarship is a direct step toward supporting representation and impact of women of color in psychology and more generally, academia.
